Rebuilding the Heart of Saint Peter’s

Project and Cost

Support this Goal

On January 4, 2021 a New York City watermain ruptured at 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue, damaging the Sanctuary and completely destroying the lower level. Five years later, we plan to begin rebuilding. church spaces that have been completely lost—the very heart of our liturgical life and liturgical arts.

PROJECT

This project will help to rebuild three spaces integral to church life: the Sacristy, an Archive Room and the Choral Library Room.

Insurance funds will cover most, but not all, of the cost.

Estimated remaining:
     $130,000   Sacristy
     $125,000   Archive Room, High-density Shelving
$120,000   Choral Library Room, High-density Shelving

     $375,000   Total non-insured cost
     $250,000   Pledged to date
     $125,000   Total goal
